Gillian Miller

Posted by Paula Burnell on September 20, 2007 9:51 PM |

The lovely Gillian Miller, Director of The Comedy Trust, gives us an insight into the things that drive her mad.....

1) Moaners - a total waste of time. There are so many people who make moaning a full-time occupation. They become experts at it. They moan about everything without exception: the weather, the city, their bins - just SHUT UP - life is too short. I think these people should be sentenced to compulsory smiling for at least an hour a day building up to actually laughing for 15 minutes a day. I'm sure they would feel much better!

2) People who don't drink. I'm always slightly suspicious of these people. I wonder why they don't drink. Do they turn into a completely different person with just one sip, or do they think that by staying sober at all costs they gain some kind of moral high ground over those of us who
do partake? I just can't quite get my head around someone not liking a large glass of red at the end of a long day!

3) Bus drivers who slam on their brakes just as everyone stands up to get off. This causes mayhem - old ladies clinging on for dear life, people sitting on each others laps, tins of cat food rolling about in the aisles - then what do we do? Get off the bus and go 'thank you' to the
driver!

I think I'm guilty of a being a bit of a moaner myself occasionally - I actually get fed up of listening to myself sometimes! To drink or not to drink? Well I feel that's a personal choice and I don't mind if people don't want to. And as for bus drivers - I can't remember the last time I got a bus so I don't know if they're bad or not. Still, I'll have to pick one - so I think I'll bin the moaners - me included!
